Chapters 19-24
Chapter 19 continues with Victor and Henry traveling through England, but Victor can wait no more. He tells Henry he needs some time alone and Victor leaves him to go create the creature's request. He goes to a small shack in Orkneys where he still has doubts on his agreement, but begins his labors.
Chapter 20 opens with Victor working on the second creature. He becomes overwhelmed at the horrors that might occur when this second creature comes alive. After thinking for a long times, Victor becomes furious with fear and destroys his works. Not long after, the creature shows up furious with Victor, he curses Victor and promises revenge. Receiving a letter from Henry, Victor packs up what is left of the works and goes off to meet Henry. He dumps the parts in the ocean and arrives on a strange shore not long after. Not knowing where he his, he tries communicating with some people in the town. They accusing him of being a murder.
Chapter 21 Victor is brought to a man named Mr. Kirwin. Mr. Kirwin decides to take Victor to the body to see his reaction. Victor was horrified to find it was Henry. Victor falls into a long illness after the horrors and is put into a prison for two months where he is nursed back to health. Mr. Kirwin, a kind man, searches into the accusations towards Victor and believes he is innocent. He contacts Victor's family and Victor's father comes to visit. When Victor goes to court, the case is thrown out because of not enough evidence to convict Victor.
Chapter 22 continues with Victor and his father heading back to Geneva. Victor receives a letter from Elizabeth who questions his true love for her. He assures Elizabeth that she holds his happiness. He remembers the creature's threats and becomes nervous again. When they return to Geneva they plan out the wedding. Despite Victor's fear, they have the wedding in which the creature seemed not to show.
Chapter 23 Victor and Elizabeth arrive at a family cottage and Victor worries about the creature arriving. He encourages Elizabeth to go to bed. Searching for the monster, Victor hears a scream from Elizabeth and the creature murders her. Victor realizes it was Elizabeth the creature was after, not Victor. Victor goes home and tells his father the news; his father dies a couple days later. Victor finally reveals the truth to a magistrate who does not believe him, so Victor goes off to seek revenge.
Chapter 24 closes with Victors endless search for the creature who taunts Victor. Victor's story finally comes to an end when Victor becomes so weak looking for the monster in the Northern ice and falls in the hands of Walton. Victor requests that Walton seek revenge on the creature once Victor dies. Walton then narrates again with letters to his sister. He believes Victor and wishes he had known Victor in his better days. Walton's crewmen wish to return to England after being stuck in ice for days. Then, one day, Walton finds the creature sobbing over Victors weakened and dead body. He says that regrets what evils he has become and wishes to die himself. He disappears into darkness and the story ends.
